Notes From The Pass
Four pies and a slice. That is our whole list most nights, and it fits on one card. Larger kitchens do not have that luxury — a steakhouse runs eight cuts of beef at different weights, and telling a Dallas Filet from a Ft. Worth Ribeye from a name alone is not realistic.
So if you are eating at one, read the menu first. The Texas Roadhouse Menu is the clearest version we have found. Every steak is listed by weight against its price, calories sit beside each item, and the Early Dine window and family pack pricing are set out with the hours they actually run — the detail most menus bury. It is re-checked monthly and it is independent, not the company’s own site, so the regional price variance is stated rather than hidden.
Different food, different city, no connection to us. But knowing what you want and what it costs before you walk in is the right way to arrive at any restaurant, ours included.

The ‘nduja pie with burrata and balsamic is worth the inconvenience. And the price.
